PLAYGROUNDS AND ALLEY IN ZETSKA STREET

Activities program of arrangement of inter – space greenery and solving the claims of citizens in settlements of City Municipality of Palilula is realizing successfully and in the first quarter this year. About results of greening and planting of alleys in Zetska Street, in the meeting with journalist on the field, spoke Milan Djurdjevic, President of Assembly of City Municipality of Palilula and Prof. Dr Igor Novakovic, President of the Municipality.

“We provided arrangement of this area and setting of two playgrounds (swing. slide, seesaw ) on the plateau at the junction of Zetska and Trstenicka Street – says Milan Djurdjevic, President of Assembly of Palilula Municipality. In Zetska Street was removed landfill by the roadside and it was formed alley where is planted new 150 trees. Now this space is for example in this part of our Municipality. Greening of this area was realized in cooperation with PUE “Gorica” which is professional and technical equipped enterprise for this kind of jobs.

Greening of bigger area is of particular importance in urban areas, where is the highest pollution, so our long – term goal is to increase areas under green and park surfaces – highlights President of Palilula Municipality Prof. Dr Igor Novakovic. As the only certified organization of local self government of City of Nis, which has established a quality management in accordance with requirements of standards ISO 9001:2008 and in this area we realize the concept of convergence to standards of EU prescribing minimum 25 square meters of green area per capita in cities.

In Palilula Municipality emphasize that they are participants of the project of National campaign “Green Cities of Serbia”, initiated by People`s Office of the President of the Republic as and world`s ecological campaigns “Billion Trees for Planet Earth”, -“Green Tracks of Europe” – “Stop to Climate Changes”, “Clean up the Serbia – Clean up the World”, which is realizing in cooperation with organizations of civil society and media EKOpolis network. Al this confirms the determination of management of Municipality that and area of protection and improvement of environment has its place in the priorities of strategic development of Palilula.
